The University: Northeastern Illinois University
is a state-supported institution located in the northwest section of
Department: The Department of Health Education, Physical
Education, Recreation and Athletics (HPERA) at
Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate from an
accredited institution in K-12 PE with emphasis on Health Education. P-12
teaching experience and use of technology to enhance teaching, assessment, and
research is also required.
Recommended Qualifications: Experience in diverse settings, experience
with professional accreditation (NCATE/AAHE/NASPE), and some experience in
university teaching, advisement, and scholarly publication are desirable.
Professional certifications and community involvement will be considered by the
search committee.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include
teaching courses in PE and/or health education, supervision of student
teachers, and other assigned courses as required by the department. Other responsibilities include student
advisement, research and service.
