Association of Teacher Educators 2019 Application for Elected Office

The following positions are open for the upcoming election, which will be held in Spring 2019:


  • Second Vice President to take office as First Vice-President at the end of the February 2020 Annual Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ and as President at the end of the February 2021 Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA.
  • One Board of Directors Representative at Large to take office at the end of the February 2020 Annual Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ and serve until February 2023.
  • One Board of Directors College-University Representative to take office at the end of the February 2020 Annual Meeting in Atlantic City, NJ and serve until February 2023.

Qualifications:

A Second Vice-President nominee must be a current active member who has held a Regular, Life, Retired or Distinguished membership for three consecutive years and who is or has been a member of the Board of Directors, Delegate Assembly, or on a national committee or commission.

The Representative at Large must be a current active member who has held a Regular, Life, Retired or Distinguished membership for three consecutive years and who has served or is serving in the Delegate Assembly, or on a national standing committee, commission or task force.

The College-University Representative must be college or university personnel working directly in educator preparation at the time of the election and be a current active member who has held a Regular, Life, Retired or Distinguished membership for three consecutive years and who has served or is serving in the Delegate Assembly, or on a national standing committee, commission or task force.

Guidelines:

There will be no campaigning pursuant to action of the Delegate Assembly. All candidates are expected to demonstrate active membership in ATE and to represent its ideals, purposes, and goals.

Anyone applying for nomination to elected office of the Association of Teacher Educators must submit the hard copy or on-line application, word document of biographical sketch and statement, endorsements and photo by January 1, 2019 to:

Official letters of endorsement must contain original signatures and be on letterhead. Letters may be faxed or mailed directly to David Ritchey at the above address or sent in PDF format directly from the letter-writer to David Ritchey, Executive Director via email.
